On 15 May 1997 the District Grand Chapter of Cyprus was formed under the Supreme Grand Chapter of The Royal Arch of England at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Nicosia and E. Comp. Simon F.N. Waley, Past Grand Superintendent (West Kent), was installed as the Grand Superintendent and 1st District Grand Principal. E. Comp. Cdr. M.B.S. Higham, RN, Grand Scribe E, assisted by other senior members of the Supreme Grand Chapter of England performed the ceremony.
